Sheep shaggers of the world, unite and take over……

sheepsex1

According to the BBC science magazine Focus 8% of male sheep are homosexual. I have a couple of questions about that;

  1. How did they find out?
  2. Was it practical and physical research?
  3. Did they use contraception?
  4. Does this explain the majority of Welsh and Kiwi blokes?

Your theories on this are welcome!

Who wants a piece of Cathedral City?

It’s been a while since I learnt a staggeringly useful piece of information that was worthy of a post but now I have something. Despite the title of the post it has nothing to do with cheese. I have always believed that one of the factors for being a city in the UK was that a cathedral was needed. However this has not been the case for many years. It is in fact a civic honour awarded by the monarch and would normally result from a competition held during a royal celebration. So there will be a new city next year as 2012 marks 60 years since the Queen took the throne. The contestants (well their local authority) have to submit a 50 page document with pictures outlining why they should be granted the title of city. Twenty six towns have joined the competition for next year. Currently there are 66 cities in the UK; 5 each in Wales and Northern Ireland, 6 in Scotland and 50 in England. Is London a city? Apparently not, although it does contain two; the City of Westminster and the City of London. The latter being an area of London and not the whole place.

I live in the City of York which does have a cathedral

The contenders for next year are; Bolton, Bournemouth, Chelmsford, Colchester, Coleraine, Corby, Craigavon, Croydon, Doncaster, Dorchester, Dudley, Gateshead, Goole, Luton, Medway, Middlesbrough, Milton Keynes, Perth, Reading, Southend, St Asaph, St Austell, Stockport, Tower Hamlets and Wrexham.

It may well be so good they named it twice, but they actually named it after the place I live in; York! I know it was almost called New Amsterdam too
